Hi, my name is Karin and I decided to write my own review site, called thetrustyreviewer.com.
For many years I have worked as a search engine and marketplace evaluator, and I have seen it all. Well, let’s say almost all. There are always stranger and crazier out there. So, I have read 1000s of ads and reviews and not much can surprise me anymore. When you buy a lot of products you expect an accurate description of the product, and you want to get some informative reviews. But unfortunately, that is not always the case. Especially reviews have gotten worse in the last few years. And with companies either giving you the product for free or paying you for a 5 star review you cannot depend on every review you read.
That is the reason I decided to have my own review website ‘The Trusty Reviewer’. One of the biggest reasons that prompted me to review those products on my own site was Amazon’s sudden influx of reviews that had nothing to do with the product I was trying to purchase. It got better, but there are still products that have reviews for different products included. And that is just plain irritating and gives a false sense of how many people bought this product and how good/bad it is.
Now, when I buy a product, I always study the reviews. Not just reviews of the site I am looking to buy the product from, but also on different sites. I am always looking for reviewers that have used the product for a while, but there are so many people reviewing a product they had just received. That does not really say anything about the product, as these reviewers did not use the product yet, or only a limited amount of time.
Then you find websites that advertise with having tested that product for x-number of hours. Well sounds nice, but remember, manufacturers do the same thing. So, testing for a few hours does not necessarily tell you, if the product holds up over time or not.
As an example, I bought a Keurig coffee maker with a milk frother attached. I read a lot of reviews, and everyone praised it for being so great, making such great cappuccino. So, I bought into that. Unfortunately, that machine did not last even 6 months and not the milk frother died, but the water heater. Thankfully I bought extra insurance and got a new and different coffee machine.
After thinking about writing a review site for quite a while, it is now time to do so.
You will get reviews of products that I, my husband, family or friends have used in their everyday life. They have tried them and their opinions, good or bad, will be published here, either as text or video reviews.
I hope that our opinions will help you make an informed decision in buying a product and you will come back again and again.
