Arts and Crafts

Do you crochet or knit?

Do you sew?

How about making something out of clay?

Or maybe you paint?

I love to do all kinds of crafts from yarn work to jewelry making and painting. But that means I need supplies – and lots of them too. I have a dedicated room that is full of all kinds of supplies, so I will be reviewing a lot of the items I bought and there will be the good and the bad reviewed.

Projects are piling up all around me. In my craft room but also in the living room, as I like to work on different craft projects while I watch TV. Those are mostly yarn projects, which take up quite a bit of space.

And my biggest downfall is when I see something on social media that I have not tried yet. Oh boy, there I go searching for supplies. Let me give you an example. When I was staying with my sister, I saw an advertisement for tambour stitching. Now I have been doing needle point and cross stitch since I was little, as that was my mother’s favorite art she created – beautiful pictures and tablecloths. But I have never done tambour stitching before, and it looked really interesting. Now you need a special needle, a frame, the right fabric and the right thread. Well, it took several tries to find the right needle – most of them got hung up on the fabric and were to sharp, the fabric I still have not found the right one and some of the threads I got broke constantly with that sharp needle.

I saw videos from a really talented tambour artist and when I got back home, I ordered the needle she recommended. And what a difference that made. No sharp edges, no broken threads, just easy stitching. As you can see, having someone demonstrate or tell you about a product that they like, and which they recommend as they use it too is golden.

Now, I hope to help you too find the right products for your art or craft projects and we will get on this journey together.

So, stay tuned for lots of reviews and if you have any suggestions, please tell me in the comments and I will make sure I will look into it.
